Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Point of Rental Software overview
What is Point of Rental Software?
Rental Essentials from Point of Rental is a scalable, cloud-based rental inventory management software for fixed and mobile rental businesses of all types and sizes. With tools such as inventory tracking, barcode scanning, POS, credit card processing, invoicing, delivery and return tracking, maintenance reminders, ROI reporting and more, Rental Essentials aims to provide an all-in-one rental management portal.
In order to enhance the customer experience, Rental Essentials provides the tools to create a fully customized and branded online self-service storefront. Vendors can upload products to the online store with photographs and details, and when a customer makes a reservation, data is automatically synchronized to the Rental Essentials calendar and the inventory levels are automatically updated. From the Rental Essentials vendor dashboard, users can track rental and inventory using the calendar tool, and gain an overview of recent transactions, new reservations, as well as outgoing and incoming rentals.
For added organization, Rental Essentials provides a color-coded calendar tool which displays the rental periods for each piece of equipment in the catalog, meaning vendors have a clear view of availability and can avoid overbooking. Once a booking is made by a client from the online store, vendors can accept the reservation and send a confirmation via email with just the click of a button. Rental Essentials also acts as a point of sale system by processing payments and credit card transactions, and sending invoices once bookings are confirmed.
